About us

Here's a little bit about the team.

We've been together a while now and all
get on quite nicely.

Kevin Cody

Kevin learnt Basic on a Sinclair ZX80 and thinks young people have it much too easy these days with C# and 8GB of memory. He spent 13 years at Ogilvy half of which was spent client facing before landing a cushy internal position as IT Director for EMEA. He created Ogilvy’s Truffles intranet, took the accolades and then took the business of creating its replacement when he set up SmallWorlders.

Cedric Crickx

A lot of Cedric's time is devoted to his volunteer work as a salesman for Apple, but in between times he likes to watch BSG & Flight of the Conchords (the accents don't work dubbed in French, apparently) and then code deep into the night. He has worked for SmallWorlders since the beginning and is the technical brains behind the Sandbox™. Likes: Diet Coke. Dislikes: not having any Diet Coke.

Dan

Although Dan is officially the account manager for Heineken, we suspect he's been sneaking in some coding on the side. We're not surprised... he's got a degree in astrophysics for goodness' sake! When he's not patiently explaining the whole deal with Schrödinger's cat you'll find Dan hard at work on the Heineken site, or else running his own DJ company after hours.

Shazad

You couldn't meet a nicer guy! Shazad takes everything pretty calmly, even when you tell him 8 hours of development work need to be done before morning tea. Sometimes he'll manage it too. Shazad has had some convincing wins in office Wii tournaments, boasting championship titles in both golf and bowling.

Simon

Simon began his working life running a successful promotions company holding music & comedy events across London. He then started at SmallWorlders as a designer, quickly moving into project management. Simon comes from a family rich in musical ability and spends late nights writing, producing and performing his work.

Jakub

Jakub is known in the office as the Chuck Norris of web development. Give him some code making trouble and he'll round-house kick that code in the face! Respect. Jakub also kicks code-arse when he's not in the office. He's currently working on the awesome www.gigadictionary.org.

Philip

Philip has dabbled in accounting and cardboard boxes, but has now been in IT for far more years than is sensible. First as a developer in a bank, then another bank and now at SmallWorlders. Philip thinks web pages should just work and up to 8meg should be just that. Philip has an unhealthy love of Excel.

Rosie

Rosie has worked in web for the last 8 years in one form or another, as a online editor for marketing teams, accessibility activist, usability consultant, agency account manager and now as a SmallWorlders project manager. She loves things that are easy to use, making things look pretty and roller-skating.
